Documentary Story
Andy was great to work with during this process. I learned so much about him and how hard he works to achieve his ultimate goal of working for St. Jude.

He is so optimistic about every opportunity that he has in front of him. Even though he knows nothing he is doing right now is going to be what he does forever, he treats it as though it will be remembered that way.

As an admissions advisor, he provides a great example about how a vigilant work ethic pays off past college. I'm glad that I was allowed an opportunity to portray that through visual storytelling.
Character Study
I'm not sure there is a better character than Steve. He is impossible to miss at any Bradley event, whether he is attending it or working.

One thing I took away from this is that your energy and passion never have to go away. I love sports, but I rarely show the passion Steve does. He is 100% energy all the time.

Having something you care so deeply about is vitally important to living a happy life. Not only does Steve have that for himself. He tries to share that with other people, hoping to make them happy too.
Story of a Place
The best way to tell the story of a place is by talking to the people in it. Even though the building has their programs separated by floors, the work of each program is highlighted throughout the hallways.

Art is such an interesting form of expression. No two people will ever comprehend any one piece the same. What Dylan might see in a piece may be way off from what I saw. I knew that when I witnessed and captured what he was creating.

The hidden gem tucked away at the edge of campus could make for a great study space with all the creativity oozing out of it. You never know, you may be in the presence of the next award-winning artist.
Feature Event
I thought covering a job fair would be easy, but then I remembered how nervous I get being interviewed without a camera in my face. I learned how to be really strategic with my videography during this event. I also learned that many students don't want to get interviewed after a job interview.

I had a lot of fun shooting this though. Seeing several of my peers interviewing for numerous different positions really made me appreciate how lucky I am to have been in a position to be filming this event and not participate in it.

With the knowledge I have attained since filming this event back in February, I know I am now much better suited to film live events in the future. However, I wouldn't mind not being assigned to cover a job fair!
All stories were filmed for COM 225: Visual Storytelling for Bradley University in Spring 2018.
